One day, I decided to change how SRB2 looks from its bland Mania-like style, to whatever I could think of, which also includes old graphics from previous SRB2 versions. And on this day, this was released. Overtime while developing this can of whatever, this mod has grown into something that one can only describe as truly, random.
Welcome to Random Assortments, Now Done On My SRB2 (or, R.A.N.D.O.M for short)!
To put it simply, this is what would happen if Sonic Robo Blast 2 had a Shareware Madness segment and was combined with boredom, inside jokes, lots of free time, and anything else nice.
So what's changed?
- A lot of graphics are stylized and remixed to be more in-line before 2.2, with many centered around the previous versions of SRB2 (ala 1.09.4, 2.0, 2.1, etc.). Some are also either from scratch, remixed and edited from said eras, or something else.
- Music has been changed to be a randomized assortment from games such as Tak 2: Staff of Dreams, Freedom Planet, my own music, mashups, other Sonic games, old SRB2 versions, etc. Along with adding new music that's not in the vanilla game!
- There's a custom SOC file which lets you freely select not only the vanilla stages, but also the NiGHTS, gunslinger, CTF, and multiplayer special stages, even the tutorial is selectable now! Plus you can visit some familiar grounds.
- Added Lilac
There's a whole lot more changes made that this mod brings that I don't think I can fully list them all!
You might be asking why this of all things was made. Simple;
I was bored, and I need some time to kill.
Due to the custom SOC, this may or may not screw up how level selecting looks since a lot of things have been moved and rearranged. If you got a zone with only a heading for that, you'll be fine. But if it's like, a copy of the vanilla SOC, then you might have some problems.
