It is exactly what it says on the tin: preserved & remastered version of the classic Sonic look people from pre-2.2 days know very well.

The quality of the work is incredible & the multi-thok is the thok except even better & surely has an even higher skill ceiling than the regular counterpart.

It adheres to the original design philosophy of SRB2. Multiple paths, different characters accounted for, flows surprisingly well while not sacrificing level design for it. The level design is immaculate.

Aesthetics are largely vanilla, however the way said assets are used is arguably as brilliant as the main campaign of SRB2. Impressive. The theming of each level is reminiscent of vanilla but more, something that is welcome for the vanilla campaign enjoyers who want more of the experience they know & love.

The only personal blemish is Egg Colosseum being at Zone 1. If I'm being honest, though, this may be more of a skill issue than anything else. It is harder than vanilla for sure, but if one can beat it, they''ll be more than qualified to handle the rest save for Brak itself.

In summary, I feel this is a map pack that succeeds at what it was intended to be.

It is an impressive display of what the UDMF format can do, and looks to be pushing the limits of the SRB2's engine. Aesthetically, it is beautiful & thematically consistent in its texture choices.

Level design is generally very tight & adheres to the original design principles of SRB2. The difficulty is higher than base game, and certain sections of Divine Sandfall can appear confusing at first, but I feel these points do not ruin the experience.

With this map pack pushing the limits of the engine, I've noticed some flickering and skybox issues within the first level of the pack. These problems aren't exclusive to it, however. I've noticed these problems popping up in many other map packs such as Rogerregorroger's map packs.

If you can handle the difficulty, it's excellent.

First maps (Bricked Busted and Dawn Sandfall) was actually made in Binary, so saying UDMF "pushing the limits of the SRB2's engine", like sure, it doesn't have node builder issues as Binary have, but thanks all to node builder for UDMF actually. Overall, it's actually the same, UDMF just makes mapping more intuitive, quicker and does have some nice features like texture scale, multitag, etc.

This is not that good. Im letting the missing levels of the original game slide but why do all of the bosses are just GFZ3 eggman? Could atleast put brak eggman as final boss. And the other guy said, but why are enemies resprites of GOOMBAS? You could have put the enemies from CEZ1 and 2 for the werehog stages. My reccomendation is fixing all that I said here, and making the level design a bit harder and better, because 2.1 maps in 2.2 are NOT good.

This is so bad and lazy, even if Dogshit were a person he'd look away from this in disgust. This is the first time I've ever given a one star, and probably the last. You don't even own any of this shit. You have no modding skills, dude. You're an asshole for this. I mean, I've seen garbage, but COME ON, MAN! You LITERALLY JUST CHANGED THE STAT VALUES!
All in all? This sucks, and I hope to never see you make a mod again.

This is a really fun revamp, the customization options are really nice but I wish it would save in between play sessions like other mods that have customization options. (such as many minor tweaks, Modern Sonic, X Sonic and Super Redux to name a few)
