SPM quick menu | i have not idea what i an doing

i want to make an addon that is the super paper mario quckmenu, with the ability to change characters just like like in SPM
proof of concept image (the sprites are big cuz small screensize for it and i am using the sprites from SPM)

i haven't got far in coding cuz you kown... i have not idea what i an doing!!!

idea for how to code it

fix the bug were the player can move when the menu is up

find char that are loaded (make a list?)
load the LIFEA0 sprites and name or hudname
max of 5 on screen
load cursor on seleted char
when cursor is at 4th slot move the solts down by one
when pressing jump on a slot change to the char showed and,
play the 3dfilp animation like in SPM
