Should SRB2 become more popular?

This is kinda a tough question to ask, because with how small it was even back then, we already had a shit ton of drama, but the game itself was thriving, and there was more than plenty of modded content to fill in the gap while STJ kept working on the game in their own time.

But now the game is losing interest ever so rapidly lately. All ingame servers are pratically dead, and so are some of the official Discord Servers (not to mention the unofficial community servers aswell). And so it applies to Kart. althought for DRRR im not so sure, but i assume its also dying too. There's barely any people interested in playing, even worse modding at all.

- Should the game become popular again, and receive a big fandom/community?
Or..

- Should it stay Small and niche with just a handful of people that always keep on coming back in one way or another?

ok so I just saw this and ngl where did the hype for this game go I mean bro this is if not one of the best 3d sonic games I have ever played and plus with it being 20 years old older than me this game need to have a comeback but at the same time it kind of depends because even though this game is really good it still is also support from mods to sometimes have something else to do but the mods also get famous too so yes I think this game should 100% make a comeback

ik this is kinda different to the question that was asked but i think SRB2Kart should be the one to make a comeback. it just was so nice and simple + it was quite easy to pick up and play. ever since DRRR came out this game basically became abandoned, which is sad because like i've said before, this game was so nice and simple, i even had a lot of fun playing on one of the multiplayer servers, which is saying a lot cuz i didnt really have a lot of fun when playing on MANY of the regular SRB2 multiplayer servers. i had a lot more to say but its probably gonna completely go away from the question entirely.

Do mind that Mods are quite literally the only reason why Doom is still alive to this day, so thats also a reason why Srb2 has remained alive, althought quite low-headed for the meantime
