I like this game a lot but I think it is a bit too difficult and because of that I prefer to use Tails rather than Sonic. I think that despite very good this game is a perfect example why Sonic is problematic 8n 3D. With Tails this game is awesome, qith Sonic it becomes frustrating and not very enjoyable imo. It is clearly not a problem of this game but how Sonic as a character woeks in 3D.
Other than that I have two major problems with this game and I'd l8ke to share my opinion about them. 1st of all, I think that enemies and their hitbox are too small and this makes them too frustrating to deal with. I don't want to just skip everything and rush to the ending, I ilike to explore and engage with enemies in "combat" but they are way too small and this makrs it too frustrating to deal with them. The homing attack is not good enough to com9ensate that but anyway slightly bigger enemies would make this game a lot better imo. The other oroblem I have is that playing with Sonic the underwater stages are way too frustrating. I love Sonic 1 so I like references to iconic features it had, but imo in a 3D Sonic game characyers should just not need to breath underwater. The opposote of what Mario does basically. Sonic is the main character beloved by many, but as it is right now this game STRONGLY discourages playing with him. Tails is just way too "overpowered" compared to Sonic. I can understand that for experienced hardcore players who just like to speedrun stages as Sonic this might not be a problem, but for a newcomer or for somebody who wabts to pkay this game in a more "generic" way Sonic is way too disadvantaged. Probably Knuckles too, I'm not sure because I don't like him so I haven't tried.
