This update focuses on making the colors be consistent across every sprite in the mod. After having manually went over all of them, I think this should about cover it. This means the blues don't change hues between sprites in the same angles/animation sets, and neither do the tans or reds. All of the greys on Sonic's shoe bottoms are now the exact same one color.
On top of that, I removed yet another stray white pixel in WAITA3 (hopefully this is the actual last one) and fixed a stanky looking leg in sprites such as GASPA8 and EDGEA8/EDGEB8. If you play close attention, you will also see that I changed some offsets in a few sprites, namely walking and running. It's an attempt to make them look more natural in movement, though I imagine I could come back later and change the offsets again should I find them not good enough as is.
Finally, since I remembered this mod existed, I replaced the character's primary continue sprite with a different down-scaled version of it that was sourced from an original drawing made by SSNTails that some people helped link to me. It doesn't look like it was lazily up-scaled anymore and it's got more detail to boot.
The drawing itself was rather hard to find, so I'll post it here for others to use. Don't worry, the version of the sprite used in this add-on has the colors altered to match in-game SSNSonic.
In my hurry to release the last version, I accidentally forgot to update one of the sideways walking frames to have the same eye pupil change, so this fixes that.
Additionally, I raised Sonic's tail up some more on the back of his running sprites. I might have to do something about the shape of the tail later, though.
Oh, and I also made the eye pupil consistent in all of the standing, walking and now running sprites.
Sorry for the lack of updates, I was busy with some other projects for a while and I haven't had the desire to do any work on this... Well, until now, that is.
Consider this a medium overhaul because I've changed a fair few things.
I had to fix Sonic's head being misaligned on his front-facing sprite when standing still (whoops), edited the "pupil" on his eyes when looking side-ways to make it look more in line with the rest of the angles, added the grey color to a bottom of his shoe in one of the front-facing running sprites while also changing the eyes to not change shapes between frames anymore, overhauled the back of his running sprites by bringing back one of the quills on the back which disappeared every other frame and moved his tail a bit to not dangle too far, slightly moved some of the sprites to be in the center rather than one or two pixels to the side (that previously caused extra problems with sprites that used the mirroring technique), slightly tweaked a falling sprite to not make it seem like Sonic's head is detached from his body, removed some more stray white pixels on sprites where I forgot to get rid of them last time (the only tweak of the super sprites in this update, I'm afraid), overhauled the eyes on the death sprites while adding the missing spines that were supposed to be protruding from the back and many other small tweaks to a bunch of other sprites that would take forever to list.
The other big change I haven't yet mentioned is that I redrew the leg on one of the teetering sprites to no longer look as awkward as it used to be (one of the other sprites in the set still looks quite weird, but I haven't gotten around to it yet). This change is also duplicated onto a similar gasping sprite since both share the same leg and shoe positions. I included an attachment on this post so you could see it for yourself.
However, I've also got some bad news... I had to remove the skidding sprites from this add-on. They are just not of good quality and I've been scheming to remake them for months, so for now, SSNSonic won't be skidding with unique sprites.
I'll try and bring them back for the next update, perhaps as an optional patch that can be applied on top of the base mod. But for now, do please enjoy this update!
Fixed some sprite errors, raised all skidding frames by 12 units, removed the black outline on Super Sonic's middle spine on his back in all of his sprites, updated Super Sonic's shoes on the forward and backward angles while standing still to match regular Sonic, finally removed every single stray white pixel in every sprite where some were present before, made regular Sonic's sideways walking sprites more consistent, touched up on the nose shine in a couple of front and back rolling sprites, properly shaded Sonic's top spin in his backward-facing pain sprite, touched up Sonic's tail in his back sprites to look slightly better and probably made many more other tiny changes that I completely forgot about because it was just that difficult of keeping track of everything I've been doing with this addon on and off for months.
Overall, there's lots of small adjustments in this update. There's nothing else too massive besides a bit of extra consistency and a few of essential fixes that I really should've pushed out a long while ago.
I also included an unused image of Sonic's STNDA2A8 sprite wearing scuba goggles inside the PK3 as a little bonus. It somewhat makes me wish I did a full skin of SSNSonicHD like that, but I'm certainly not good enough to be able to do a project of such scale... Yeah, I still can't draw proper pain and springing sprites for Super Sonic that don't make it look like as if my hands and fingers were disfigured by a chainsaw.
Oh well, at least someone can gawk at this concept image and think of a potential cursed swimming SSNSonic addon. He did fly once before... I'm certain he could swim someday as well.
Included a massive ton of new changes since the last version, especially regarding the sprites, which I will detail in the mod page itself.
SSNSonicHD-E&E now uses it's own skin name (ssnsonichdult) and this addon at this point should be compatible with virtually every other mod out there as I fixed an issue with a thok graphic being replaced.
