Tweaked a particular single pixel in one of Sonic's idle animation sprites to not change it's color between frames due to that pixel being associated with a part of the sprite that doesn't actually move or change in the animation.
Fixed missing pixels in one of Knuckles' arms in a few of the climbing sprites.
This update is mostly just to remind you guys that I'm still alive and that I haven't really done anything on that "legacy" version of the mod I promised. Between work in the real world and other small projects I've been working on, I honestly haven't spent much time even playing SRB2 for the past year. So in light of this, I'm not exactly going to promise that Sprite Fixes Legacy will come, but I'll try to make it. I still have the old files and it shouldn't take much to catch up to the level of changes I've ended up making for the final release of this mod.
As for this update itself, I've added a missing pixel on Sonic's forehead on two sprites that show up when he's running towards the camera... Yeah, that's all there is to it. There isn't really anything else for me to change with the sprites since this is about as complete of a fix as it gets without expanding the scope of this project further.
This is a tiny update that simply makes the back of Sonic's quills have consistent pixels between his standing sprite and a couple of walking ones which all share the same exact shapes, and thus, should definitely have the same pixels on them. The difference should be unnoticeable.
Yeah... That's literally it. Sorry to disappoint, but I'm kind of busy at the moment. The mod's complete as it is for now, but I promise I'll get that "legacy" version of it ready at some point in the future.
This is a quick update I wanted to do a while ago, but kept putting it off due to some other things that I've been working on. Here's what it does:
- Altered Sonic's WALKF5 and Super Sonic's WALKF5 sprites (the walking frame in the middle of the animation, backward angle) to have a consistent tail, meaning that it won't flip when stopping Sonic's movement exactly on that frame. It very slightly sacrifices tail motion (or maybe not, some might find this better than the original sprite) when walking away from the camera, but I think it's completely fine and it's worth it when tip-toeing around;
- Fixed one specific frame in the title-screen animation (the one involving Knuckles appearing) by replacing all of the three differently scaled sprites associated with it specifically to address the miscoloring on the top of Knuckles' head which did not align with the rest of his sprites;
- Added all of the flicky sprites from SRB2 v2.2.14/v2.2.15 so that they were updated alongside the player character sprites when loading the addon in versions of the game dated before the v2.2.14 patch. These are all otherwise unchaged and untouched.
I shut off a couple of more transparent pixels in Knuckles' skidding sprites that I forgot to address in the last update. That's it, I've got nothing else here. I simply wanted to get this out quickly before moving on to other projects.
Whoops... I forgot to include an important fix for the back of Knuckles' gliding and swimming sprites lacking the same shading on his head and tail between all of the frames of all the animations. I also slightly reshaped the shading at the top there to look a bit better.
This is an update focused on Knuckles since I've been looking at his sprites in greater detail. Here's a quick rundown of what's changed:
- Edited Knuckles' SKIDA4 and SKIDA6 (skidding sprites) to address an issue with a misplaced transparent pixel in the middle of his body;
- Quickly tweaked Knuckles' XTRAB0 (the CSS graphic) to remove a stray white pixel between his shoes which wasn't intended to exist in the first place because it's a part of the image's background which is supposed to be entirely transparent;
- Changed a few of Knuckles' NiGHTs sprites to make his white crescent consistent with his gliding/swimming sprites.
A small update to change a couple of little things. Namely, I've edited regular Sonic's SKIDA5 sprite to make the back of his head match his RUN_A5/RUN_C5 sprites and I changed one pixel in his FALLB4 and FALLB6 on one of his arms to match his other sprites in frame A as well as his super sprites which had that pixel colored differently for whatever reason.
I tweaked the vertical offsets a little for some of Knuckles' springing sprites and gave Super Sonic his mouth in a couple of his stunned sprites since it was missing from them for whatever reason. This last fix was also duplicated to Sonic's NiGHTs sprites since they use the same stunned sprites as Super Sonic.
