Gemerl

There is also such a wonderful thing as "addon patches", but not everyone knows how to create them. Although this idea was rejected on MB, declaring patches "theft", but it would take a lot of effort to shift semantics to call it "theft", even in a figurative sense. It's something like "figurative meaning from figurative meaning", lol.
infinite wasn't even trying to create a patch, the other emerl mod isn't even released yet so how can he make a patch? it doesn't even matter if it's theft (it is) or not anymore because the creator out right said that he doesn't want his sprites used in this mod.

I am only using gemerl sprites and I will spend my money and give credit if I am done making Gemerl mod.
DRILL
Game Boy Advance Sonic Advance 3 Ultimate Gemerl
Game Boy Advance Sonic Advance 3 Gemerl

great, but don't use the first one, sonicsez created those too. also you don't need to give money for the other sprites,
But, the issue here is, they werent technically created by him, theyre official art from Sega themselves, he just went throught the bother (which its always never easy), of digging through the files, then export it as a usable PNG file we can simply download and visualice anywhere else, like a regular picture.

BC the sprites below legit say do not steal/ claim as own lmao

Those two advance Gemerl sprites are made by Sonicsez?

How the fuck do you need to when these sprites aren't even from anybody other than Sega themselves? If it's heavily edited then it's one thing, but these are straight from the game, they didn't created the sprites. I can rip them myself and they're the exact copy of each other. You shouldn't claim these sprites as yours of course (it's stealing, shocking I know), but if I'm generous, I give it to Sega.
If you say the sprite sheet itself, well I can make my own in seconds without any effort.

IF all sprites in the image were to be official, then in that case, only credit you may be able to, and entitled to claim, its the credits for going through out the hassle of extracting, then converting the sprites into a usable file we can all download and preview more easily. Aka: A PNG file.

Unless you added some of your own onto the list, be it to complete a set and make it look slightly better for anybody who wanna use them in any project of yours.

Dude, I've been gone for so long, it's not even funny...:ohnosilver:
I'ma put in my two cents:
This wouldn't have been argued about if he just gave credit and asked.
It's simple, eh? That's really the problem. You don't need to pay him or make a whole thread blow up because of it. All you need to do is ask, and if he says no, then don't. Simple. If he says so, and says to credit him, easy. You at best just need to put 2 lines, one with the Enter key, and one saying something as short as "Sprites:@SONIcsez1234" or something along those lines. If he says yes, and says you don't have to credit him (IF HE SAYS YES BUT NOTHING ELSE, ASK IF YOU NEED TO CREDIT HIM! THIS WILL LEAD TO THE SAME SHITTY OUTCOME AS WHAT HAPPENED.), go fucking wild. Hell, you could add EXTRA sprites if you wanted to! But if you want to avoid people being people again, simply take a look a this.
Hope I helped some people understand.

NOW BACK TO THE ETHER I GO!!! :DDDDD

You (and the rest of people here) need to learn that a credit is enough. You don't need to go extra mile to use someone else's assets. Because in the end of the day, we are all just doing for fun, as a hobby.

Again, the main problem is that he doesn't do that and claim as his, going as far as profiting around these mods which is a big no-no. All for the sake of trolling or bring retarded enough to be genuine.

Def can see why. can you show legit progress of ur mod?
Now that you mention it, so much trouble for.. What, exactly? he hasnt shown any progress or sneak peak so far at all, even despite the drama he has caused with the fact he took sprites from someone else in the community without consent.

Has he even used them in the first place to begin with?
