Do you think there will be a ringlinger update or will it be removed?

Well, they didn't give us a technical reason about it AFAIK. One person had said it was because of the codebase mess (As if it hasn't been messed up for a long time), but for now the only thing I saw they say is "ringslinger sucks, nobody plays it".

People would still play ringslinger had STJR bothered to implement any of the changes people have been requesting for well over a decade now (such as not losing all your weapons when you get hit, better weapon balance - Rails specifically, giving other characters besides Sonic a fighting chance) instead of implementing bizarre changes nobody asked for (why can I use weapon rings without rings? why didn't you replace match Super forms with anything worth the effort of gathering 7 emeralds while being shot at by several opponents?)

Ringslinger is being killed off because nobody on STJR actually bothered to sit down and READ any of the problems people had with it in the first place. None of the current developers have touched it for any longer than 5 minutes and it shows.
