Pre-2.2.14 Sprites - Old sprites will live on forever

Do you like the old sprites more than the 2.2.14 sprites? Yeah, me too. That's why I made this mod. It was fairly easy to do.

2.2.14 sprites still appear for some characters, like the skidding, idle and hovering animations. It doesn't bug me.

Usage: Go hog wild with it. I don't want or need credit, but feel free to do so if you feel like it. This is just something I wanted to do so that I can play with the old sprites again.

uh, 1st off, why do i get a 2nd team sonic?
and 2nd, the sprites are the same, change the name of the 3 and then it should work
(if 2 mods are have the same name, they will both default to the 1st one you activate
 
are they separate skins instead of a P_SKIN?
 
Do you guys want them to be separate characters instead of them overriding/replacing the vanilla characters?
 
Well, i guess, i just wanted them not to get mixed up with the real ones so nothing really happens

I did switch the P_SKIN lumps to S_SKIN lumps so they’re separate characters a few hours ago. I was thinking about changing the skin names to something like P.Sonic or Pre.Sonic. It’s up to anyone on how they want it to be so that they are distinguishable between the vanilla and old sprites.

The sprites? There really is no visual difference, though in tails it’s noticeable, along with Amy. I plan on removing the skidding animation from these characters as well.

Except Sonic, they all appear more "alive" or smoother in their animations like:

Everyone: has larger snouts instead of flat faces.

Amy: became more expressive in her animations moving more her limbs while skidding, getting hurt, and etc.

Metal: appear more "threatening" and robotic, like drifting instead of skidding, floating like in "stand" pose while hovering at walk speed.

Fang: now he actually holsters his weapon instead of materializing it outta nowhere, and has more "in character" Wait Anims.

And thats as far as i can remember or had noticed so far.


EDIT: Sonic DID changed, but only if you measure it pixel by pixel, as he gotten the most subtle changes from them all

that would defeat the whole purpose of having the old sprites of the 2.2 skins
 
Yeah I low-key think the skin name should change to something like oldsonic oldtails and etc.
